Some Travel Tips
With all the fun things to do and accessibility for digital nomads in Thailand, Koh Phangan is definitely a must-visit. Before leaving you to your planning, here are a few things to know when traveling to the area:
When to visit Koh Phangan
The best time to visit Koh Phangan is between February to March when you don’t have to worry about the rains. You can also head to Koh Phangan in May and June, but these are the hottest times of the year, which is best for those who want to enjoy the beaches and get that tan.
The transportation
The easiest way to get to Koh Phangan from Bangkok is to take a flight to Koh Samui, then a ferry to Thong Sala Pier in Koh Phangan. The flight to Koh Samui from Bangkok takes about 1 hour, and the ferry ride is approximately 45 minutes. You can also take a bus to Surat Thani and then a ferry to Koh Phangan, which takes around 3 hours.
When you arrive at the Thong Sala Pier, you’ll be bombarded by many moto-taxi drivers who are ready to take you to your accommodation. They only charge between $2-16. While you can take public transportation, you can rent your own motorbike, which costs between $6-9 to rent daily.

For short visits, Thailand offers visa exemptions to many nationals, but for those who wish to stay longer as digital nomads, the new Destination Thailand Visa (DTV) provides an excellent option.
DTV is a long-term visa offered by Thailand for remote workers, freelancers, and digital nomads. It is essentially a Digital Nomad Visa, valid for 5 years and allows up to 180 days of stay per entry. Multiple entries are permitted during the validity period, making it suitable for individuals who work remotely and wish to stay in Thailand for extended periods.
