The transportation
The easiest way to get to Koh Phangan from Bangkok is to take a flight to Koh Samui, then a ferry to Thong Sala Pier in Koh Phangan. The flight to Koh Samui from Bangkok takes about 1 hour, and the ferry ride is approximately 45 minutes. You can also take a bus to Surat Thani and then a ferry to Koh Phangan, which takes around 3 hours.
When you arrive at the Thong Sala Pier, you’ll be bombarded by many moto-taxi drivers who are ready to take you to your accommodation. They only charge between $2-16. While you can take public transportation, you can rent your own motorbike, which costs between $6-9 to rent daily.
Visa situation
Digital nomads that work remotely for a company registered in Thailand can apply for a non-B visa and work permit, which allows you to stay for up to 3 months. If you are on a tourist visa, you can apply for a 60-day visa.
