Goto Islands: A Quiet, Ghibli-Inspired Escape for Digital Nomads

Crystal-clear seas, panoramic skies with Ghibli-like clouds, and the warmth of kind-hearted locals.
Goto islands in Nagasaki offer a a journey back to yourself.

Often called the “Ghibli Islands”, the Goto archipelago inspired the natural backdrops seen in Studio Ghibli films. Nizo Yamamoto, the legendary art director behind many of those iconic scenes, once lived here and drew directly from its landscapes. His art museum still welcomes visitors today.

Just a 40-minute flight from Fukuoka, the Goto Islands are free from flashy attractions and digital noise—precisely what makes them such a special destination for digital nomads.

This 6-day retreat isn’t about doing more. It’s about doing less and feeling more.

The island doesn’t demand productivity. It invites visitors to breathe with the ocean, walk among mountains, nourish themselves with food from land and sea, and share quiet, heartfelt conversations with locals – and in that space, to remember what led you to this nomadic life.

Event Highlights

Welcome Dinner(15th): A casual meet & greet with local snacks and drinks to kick off the retreat.
Goto Cooking Night (18th): Cook and eat together using local ingredients.
Bonfire BBQ (19th): Enjoy a fire-lit evening under the stars with local meats, vegetables, and soulful conversation.

🏡 Special Accommodation (18th–19th)

• Early Bird Ticket – $250 (Available until 31th August)
• Regular Ticket – $300 (Available from 1st September to 30th September)
• Last Minutes Ticket – $350 (Available from 1st October to 14th October)
